Expedition report: how SaaSquatch finds jobs

Where our sightings come from, how often we check, and why a job disappears from the log the moment it disappears from the source.

People ask how the expedition works. Here's the short version.

We go to the source

We don't scrape other job boards. Every sighting comes straight from a company's own careers page, the same listings their recruiters manage. If you can see it in the Sighting Log, it was live on the company's site when we last checked.

We check every night

Each night the expedition sweeps every company we track. New roles are logged, changed roles are updated, and each role is filed by category (Engineering, Sales, Product and so on), location and workplace type.

We never log ghosts

Stale listings are one of the most frustrating parts of job hunting. When a role comes down from a company's careers page, we retire it from the log, so you don't waste time on jobs that are already filled.

We keep it about tech

For SaaS and tech companies, we log every role, because sales, customer success and marketing at a software company are still tech jobs. For companies outside tech, we only log the technical roles: engineering, data, product and design.

Employers, you've been spotted

If your company is in the log, you can claim your company page to make it your own.

The search continues. New sightings are logged every night.
